What all-keys-lost means
Losing your last key puts you in what locksmiths call an all-keys-lost situation. There is no working key left to copy or to start the learning process, so the new key has to be created and accepted by the car from scratch.
It sounds dire, but for most vehicles it is a routine job we handle every week. We read your lock or VIN to cut a fresh blade, then use programming equipment to teach the immobilizer a brand-new key with none present to begin.
How we get you back on the road
We come to wherever the car is parked in Palm Beach County. After confirming you own the vehicle, we produce the correct cut and connect to the car to program the new key. Depending on the system, that is done through the diagnostic port or at the module level.
For most makes and models this happens on site in a single visit, no tow required. A small number of newer or luxury vehicles are dealer-level by design for all-keys-lost, and we tell you honestly if yours is one before we head out.
Protecting yourself afterward
Once you have a new key, it is wise to add at least one spare right away while you have a working key to copy from. That keeps a future loss from becoming another all-keys-lost job. We can cut and program the spare during the same visit.
If your last key may have been stolen rather than simply misplaced, ask us to erase the system so any found key is shut out. Then keep a backup key somewhere safe and separate so you are never fully without one again.
Still have a key or fob question?
Tell us your year, make, and model and we will confirm exactly what your vehicle needs before we head out.
